ID06 is a system for electronic personnel registries in the construction industry. It was developed by The Swedish Construction Federation (Sveriges Byggindustrier) to create safer workplaces. Today, the ID06 system is managed by the company ID06 AB.
Compulsory registration in personnel registries and unannounced inspections by The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) make it harder for unauthorized people to be present on construction sites. This means increased safety and healthier competition.
The ID06 system consists of:
- Electronic systems for personnel registries, which meet the legal requirements as of January 1, 2016.
- Personal ID06 cards (or a smartphone version), which is mandatory for everybody at a ID06-connected construction site.
- Reader equipment (card terminals) and/or smartphone applications for registration in the personnel registers. All recordings are encrypted and have traceable logs.
- A central register for locked cards, to ensure maximum security and availability.
The ID06 system complies to the Personal Data Act (Personuppgiftslagen, PUL), and is approved by the Swedish Data Protection Authority (Datainspektionen). More information on the ID06 system is available on ID06 AB’s site.
Legal requirements and fees for non-compliance
The general contractor or turnkey contractor is legally obliged to maintain an electronic personnel registry on the construction site. Everyone working at the construction site has to be registered in the personnel registry daily. Those who do not comply have to pay so-called inspection fees.
